California Avocado Festival

Carpinteria, California is the home each year in October of the world-famous California Avocado Festival. The idea of the Avocado Festival began in 1984 at a brainstorming meeting between community leaders and was created to be an ongoing weekend event that would benefit Carpinteria and the fundraising efforts of the local non-profit groups. This would also help promote Santa Barbara and Carpinteria in particular as a Southern California weekend getaway destination. The Avocado Festival has now grown to have over 100,000 visitors each year and is one of only a few community festivals still operated in the heart of downtown. With a growing variety of music and entertainment - it's fun for the whole family! Viewers of this video might also enjoy the California Lemon Festival.
